Five Things You Wanted To Know About Your Nose Piercing But Forgot To Ask

Body art and modification are a part of the human experience. Even the smallest forms of body art, like a nose piercing, can be beautiful ways to celebrate life. Luckily, the passage of time has seen society be a bit more open and accepting of those who embrace the life of tattoos, piercings, and body mods.
But if we go back to the nose piercing, it's a unique stylistic decision by the wearer to have bit of sparkle or shine right smack in the middle of their face. It immediately draws the viewer's attention right to nose, and that can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Some might still have somewhat starchy views of the whole thing and lump a nose piercing into the same discussion as a neck or face tattoo. Clearly, they might say, a decision was made to live a life without care for maintaining a decent livelihood because they'd rather decorate their face.
Still, nose piercings are pretty popular. In an effort to be transparent, my own mother, who is nearly seventy years old, has her nose pierced. Then again, she's always been ready and willing to tell someone to stick it and mind their own business. She likes it because it makes her feel cool, and she really gets a kick out of teenage girls coming up to her and making her feel ageless.
If you've ever thought about getting a nose piercing but weren't sure what to ask, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Pain Will Vary Between People - Some people tell tales of the harrowing amounts of pain they experienced when getting their nose pierced, while others felt maybe a little pinch. It's different for everyone.
Safe Metals vs Non-Safe Metals - Even beyond which metals are safe to use for piercing, it's important to know what materials you are allergic to. The last thing you want to experience is a bad reaction that could ruin your piercing, but you certainly want to avoid a reaction that could be detrimental to your health.
Types of Nose Rings and Piercing Styles - If you are only aware of one type of nose ring and piercing, you've got some serious homework to do.
Healing Varies Between People - In the same way that everyone experiences pain a little differently, so, too, does the same apply to how quickly one heals. It can be annoying, but you need to be patient.
Relatively Low-Cost - A nose piercing is a pretty low-cost foray into the world of body art and modification. Just be sure you'll be able to maintain the aftercare & give it the proper time to heal.
A nose piercing is a neat little way get into the world of body art and modification. With fairly low price tag and generally easy aftercare, it's a cool way for someone to say, "Here I am. Deal with it." Still, if you're not sure if it's right for you, visit parlors & meet piercers. These personal interactions may be just what you need to get over any trepidation you may feel.
